A new design, structure and precinct has been announced for the Melbourne Festival! The FOXTEL Hub is entering a new phase for the 2013 event, reaching a larger scale after being welcomed to a great reception in its debut year last year.

The Melbourne Festival is partnering with design specialists Bluebottle in creating the new structure, which will be situated on the Peppercorn Lawn of the Alexandra Parklands. The Hub itself features an impressive programme of ticketed and free events for festival-goers to immerse themselves in, with the venue being marketed as a pop up performance venue, late night club and more.

The Festival is offering three exclusive Australian performances from The Polyphonic Spree (supported by Abbe May), the Australian premiere of The Beta Band's frontman Steve Mason (supported by Stolen Violin, Fuck Buttons, Quique Niera, Ólafur Arnalds) and Cody ChestnuTT (supported by JONES Jnr).

Australia is set to be represented well, with the following artists set to perform at the Melbourne Festival:

Hiatus Kaiyote
Husky
Gian Slater and the Invenio Singers
Dexter
Flight Facilities
The Swiss
Tinpan Orange
Eagle and the Worm
Blair Stafford
Martin Martini

With performances from Caitlin Rose and Wagons, NO ZU, Prince Rama, The Caribs, Strange Tenants and The Ska Vendors also set to take off on this year's festival program, you're going to have plenty of opportunities to get amongst the excellent atmosphere!
